Sunbutter & Jelly Sandwich
Our Sunbutter & Jelly Sandwich recipe is great for kids following a gluten free diet or need a nut-free alternative to peanut butter and jelly!
Sunflower seed butter is a great source of protein, fat, and fiber. Combining these nutrients help keep your child full and nourished until the next meal/snack. Sunflower seed butter is also a great source of vitamin E, zinc, iron, folate, magnesium and can offer antioxidant benefits.
This recipe can be customized! You can swap the jam for different jam flavors according to your child’s sensory preferences and nutritional needs. This recipe can still be enjoyed if a gluten free diet is not needed. You may stick with gluten free bread or use your family’s choice of bread at home.
Ingredients
2 tbsps Sunflower Seed Butter
2 tsps Strawberry Jam
2 slices Gluten-Free Bread (We like Canyon Bakehouse, Udi's, or Schar - though there are many!)

A note on ingredient quality: If possible, choose ingredients that are organic and non-GMO. Stores such as Sprouts, Natural Grocers, Whole Foods, and other health food stores can help finding higher-quality ingredients. If access to higher quality ingredients isn't an option for you, choose the best option that is available to you locally.
Directions
Spread the sunflower seed butter on one slice of bread.
Spread the jam on the other slice.
Put the two pieces together to form a sandwich.
You can cut off the crusts if your child doesn't like the texture. You can also buy sandwich cutters on amazon to make an "Uncrustable" or a fun shape.
Pack in their lunch (or put on their plate!) and enjoy!
