Ants on a Log
Our Ants on a Log recipe is great because since we “eat with our eyes” it’s a fun visual for kids to want to explore their food! It’s appealing and nutritious at the same time.
Ants on a Log is a great source of protein, fat, and fiber. Combining these nutrients help keep your child full and nourished until the next meal/snack. This recipe features all natural peanut butter, fresh celery, raisins and cinnamon, which are a great source of calcium and iron and can support strong bones and future communication for children with autism.
This recipe is highly customizable! You can swap peanut butter for a different nut butter or non-nut butter. You could also swap raisins for dried craisins (without added sugar). Pumpkin spice instead of cinnamon may also be a tasty swap. Feel free to make changes according to your child’s sensory preferences and nutritional needs.
